I chose to be quite minimalist with my necklaces, both to keep the packing light and because these three pieces are hard to get all tangled up the way that delicate chains do. The first piece on the left is an Irish love knot pendant that I got in London when I visited in collage. It's simple and pretty but casual. The next piece is my pearl necklace. Confession? Not real at all. I got them at The Icing for about $10. They look beautiful and who doesn't want to wear pearls in Paris? And if they get lost or stolen, it's not like it's my strand of real pearls that are a family heirloom. They last piece is my one and only statement necklace from New York and Company. It's a tiny bit ostentatious, but a lot of fun.
And now earrings. I have an earring obsession. I love pretty, sparkle, dangly, beaded things hanging off my ears. Perhaps seven pairs seems a bit like overkill, but it's one of the main ways I accessorize. Also, perhaps slightly sad, is that all of these earring are from New York and Company, save for the pearls. With the exception of my engagement ring (which rarely leaves my finger) the pearls are the only jewelry of true value that I am taking. And I received these as a gift when I purchased my wedding dress so again, not a family treasure I fear to lose.
And that's all folk. Enough to vary my look, but while keeping it light. What are your travel jewelry essentials?
